Lube guide

The right lube makes almost everything more comfortable. The wrong one can damage your toy. Here's the short version.

Water-based

Safe with all toy materials, including silicone, and easy to wash off. It can dry out during longer sessions, but a few drops of water or more lube will bring it back. This is the best all-rounder and our recommendation for beginners.

Silicone-based

Long-lasting and slippery, which is good for the shower. Do not use it with silicone toys, as it can break down the surface of the toy over time.

Oil-based

Oils are not compatible with latex condoms and can be hard to wash off. Check your toy's material and your condoms before using one.

Quick tips

• If you're unsure, choose water-based.
• Use more than you think you need, especially for anal play.
• Clean your toy with warm water and mild soap after use.
